Example piece timeline walkthrough: hades boy, 2022
After witnessing a depiction of Hades as Idia Shroud from the Disney game Twisted Wonderland, I became inspired to draw a piece representing his utter dismay regarding duties as the son of Hades, for a job that will one day become his. With my inspiration, whether it be explicit or inexplicit, I turn ideas into depictions and creative pieces of my own.

I start with a few gesture sketches, adding just enough and reworking it just to the point where I can either cleanly sketch or line over it.

I then cleanly sketch and/or line over the original gesture sketch, making sure the facial expression is just right to fit the mood and tone of whatever I am depicting.
I then hide the sketch layer and clean up anything I dislike with the lineart, while also adding varied line weights.
I use a different layer for each base color, aligning them in their respective spaces. Basic ombres may be added.
I then paint the shaded tones, color the lineart, and add respective painted effects and layers to depict the image I desire. Whether I utilize the lineart as it is or paint over it depends on the nature of the piece.
